Barbara Hanson

Barbara Hanson, 66, of Kingston, passed away peacefully at her home in Kingston, on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, after a 2-year battle with cancer. She will be remembered as a kind caring woman who made everyone around her better.

Born in 1954, to Walter and Eleanor Drahan in Britain, Conn., Barbara was a sister to Catherine Gaudisnki, Mary Jane Mccue of Connecticut and the late Michelle Drahan of Colorado, and Goddaughter to Helen Dendy. Barbara is survived by her husband, Keith, children, Gregory and Eric, and in memory of David Hanson, as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Barbara graduated from Alliance College with a degree in chemistry before going to work as a laboratory technologist at Sharon Hospital where she worked for 7 years, then Brockton Hospital for 34 years.

Within the community of Kingston, Barbara volunteered with a number of organizations, including but not limited to the Boy Scouts, Saint Joseph’s Church, the Kingston Cultural Council, Haiti 180, as well as the Silver Lake Football and Hockey organizations. Visiting hours for Barbara will be held on Friday, October 15, from 4 to 8 pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Kingston.
