Lorraine Rita Fenza

May 21, 1944 – January 27, 2022. 

Lorraine passed away at home on Thursday, January 27, 2022, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Lorraine was born and raised in Woodlyn, PA, and attended Ridley Township High. She was actively involved with the high school’s sports and club activities and served on the school’s Executive Council, Play and Prom committees, Student council, and yearbook committee. Lorraine’s sports activities included Basketball, Softball, Hockey and, membership in the Varsity Club.

Lorraine’s working career was concentrated in Logistics, specializing in Air Freight. Starting as Lead Agent for Customer programs, and moving into sales, and eventually part owners of an Air Freight Company.

Lorraine attended Alliance College in Cambridge Springs, PA and Bryn Mar School of Nursing before becoming addicted to the smell of diesel fuel and noisy aircraft.

Lorraine retired in 2007, and with Joe, her husband, moved to the Lakes of Mount Dora, FL. As one of a team of 4, Lorraine helped to establish the first entertainment committee for the community. Prior to the clubhouse being built, the early events were held at the homes of various residents. As the community grew, the events grew in size and frequency and became more diversified.

Lorraine is survived by her husband Joe of 57 years, her daughter Michelle Long and her husband Toby; her son Daniel and his wife Melissa, and 4 grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, Zachary and Nathan.
